Social Sites make me money

The recent trend around the internet and internet marketing forums has been that having your site listed in a social site will not make you any money.  Their rationale behind this is that social sites are full of none other than casual browsers.  Therefore, any person interested in finding particular information or purchasing a product will find their site of choice from a search engine, not a social site.  They also state that those who reach your site through a social site as a casual viewer will mentally block out any ad presented, preventing you from making any money.

Don't listen to those who say social sites won't make you money

People will tell you not to use social bookmarking sites to promote your site, don't listen to them.  They claim that while social sites do have the potential to get a TON of traffic, they'll only be casual browsers.  To that I say so what?  If I can get thousands of viewers to my site for very little effort, I'll take it any day. 

If my site offers well rounded, useful, fresh, and important information, then there is a good chance that the casual browser will become intrigued by the content I provide.  If I've just turned a casual browser into a loyal visitor, then the social site they came from just proved valuable for me.  Loyal viewers are the ones who purchase products or click ads seeking further information.  Even if I gain zero loyal viewers from the social site, if I get, say a thousand viewers from a social site, a portion of them are bound to click an advertisement on my page, making me money.

Social Sites never lead to clicked ads or products purchased

Regardless of whether or not they do (I know for a fact they do), it will still help you out monetarily.  On every one of my pages on my money making site, I have buttons on the bottom of the post which allows the user to upload the article to a social site.  Lets say that the article is uploaded to Facebook.  Now since the user is uploading a specific article, a deep link, to Facebook, I am now receiving a deep one way link from a PR9 (Page Rank 9) site.  That can do nothing but strengthen my ranks in search engine results page and since it looks like Facebook will be with us for years to come, I'll have a deep link for quite some time.

Start Socializing and make some money

Just like I explained in my Hub about the Importance of Networking, you have to network on the internet too if you want to advance.  Get with the times and start socializing.  Social networks get your name out and help you build a strong reputation if your site provides valuable information.  Remember, the more engaging your site is, the more a viewer will seek more information potentially clicking an advertisement or purchasing a product from your site, making you money.
