Make the most of your free time

Being unemployed can leave you with a lot of free time on your hands.  Unfortunately, in this economy, there is a lot of free time going around.  Whether you were laid off and collecting unemployment or just haven't been able to find another job, you are more then likely struggling to make ends meet. As even the most simple expenses make you cringe and further add to your worry.  I myself was a victim of unemployment and I've got to say, it is a true test of your character, time management and ingenuity.

Character

I remember getting very down on myself and angry with every expense I had to shell out of my pocket.  I'd constantly find myself having to reassure myself after being at the break of feeling hopeless.  Depression, aggression, and hopelessness, among other things can set in during unemployment but an upbeat attitude always has to be kept.  Your moods can be visibly shown by looking at your facial expressions, regardless of whether your trying to hide it or not.  Make sure you go in to any interview or job related exercise with a positive attitude, if you're not confident and upbeat, why would anyone around you be confident and upbeat about you?

Time Management

Yes, when you are unemployed you've got a lot of free time on your hands but you have to still maintain good time management.  That excess of free time can lead to lethargic tendencies.  Just like when you go on a diet and eat healthy food all the time, once you loose the weight you may sometimes draw back to your old tendencies of overeating, you can abuse your free time and be sucked into the television or other none productive tendencies.

Keep yourself productive all the time.  Make sure you are constantly sending out your resume to any potential company that will listen to you to greater your chances.  While you aren't sending out your resume, you should be bettering yourself.  Whether it be picking up an educational book, working out, or doing a hobby.  All of these are positive stimulants of the brain that can develop strong and productive tendencies that can carry over to the job you'll soon have!

Inginuity

You'll have to be creative while unemployed to keep your bank account out of the red.  If you are receiving an unemployment check each week, think about cutting back on an unnecessary expenses and use that extra money to purchase some penny stocks or start a money generating website that will cost you less then $14 to start.

If you have no incoming revenue what so ever, do what I did.  I found some stuff around the house that I didn't believe to be a necessity and sold them on eBay.  By doing so, I now had the savings I had saved up over the years as my way of paying bills and then I had this money from eBay that I'd use to invest in other potential revenue creators.  The key is to invest, when making a purchase, decide if this can eventually lead you to more money or will it be consumed quickly and provide nothing else.

I took my money, $462 dollars, and invested in a few penny stocks and learned to make my own website.  I got lucky with one stock, a gold stock that I bought at $1.07 and reached close to $4.00 in a few short months.  But my real cash crop at the present time has come from implementing advertisements which I get paid for every click and the eBay auctions I get commission from.

Unemployment can be a real troublesome time.  It can ruin your family life and it can ruin yours.  The key is to stay upbeat and always have a positive vision in your head.  Truly believe that this is not the end of the world, someone may have it worse, and there are greener pastures ahead.  I truly believe positive things happen to positive people.
